3. Music & Lyric Songwriting

  • Music: Understand scales, harmony, rhythm, and song structure. Apply theory to practical playing and improvisation.
  • Lyric: Techniques for crafting lyrics, melody creation, song structure, and arrangement. Collaborate with instructors and peers on original compositions.


4. Stage Performance

  • Live Performance: 

Gain confidence through mock performances and live rehearsals. Receive constructive feedback on stage presence, interaction with bandmates, and audience engagement.

Technical Production: Basics of sound equipment setup, monitoring, and understanding stage lighting for optimal performance.

  • Music Business Basics: Introduction to music industry fundamentals, copyright, royalties, contracts, and marketing strategies.

James "Jimmy" Newquist is an award-winning executive producer, songwriter, & performer now based in beautiful Prescott, Arizona. 

Jimmy's career has centered around producing records & touring concert experiences in club, theater, and arena capacities throughout Europe, Asia, & the United States.  

Since earning a Bachelor's Degree in Commu

James "Jimmy" Newquist is an award-winning executive producer, songwriter, & performer now based in beautiful Prescott, Arizona. 

Jimmy's career has centered around producing records & touring concert experiences in club, theater, and arena capacities throughout Europe, Asia, & the United States.  

Since earning a Bachelor's Degree in Communications & Fine Arts from Loyola Marymount University, 

Jimmy has been recognized for his original musical compositions with sales exceeding one million records. He is member of ASCAP and a multiple RIAA Gold Record recipient - achieveing four individual "Top 40" 

Billboard / Radio&Records chart positions.

They range from beginners with no prior musical experience to advanced musicians seeking to refine their skills and expand their artistic horizons.

  1. Children and Teens: Young aspiring musicians eager to learn guitar, bass, drums, vocals, and stage performance techniques in a supportive and inspiring environment.
  2. Adult Learners: Individuals who are passionate about music and wish to either begin their musical journey or further develop their skills. Whether pursuing music as a hobby, or a potential career path, they seek comprehensive instruction and guidance.
  3. Professionals and Industry Hopefuls: Musicians already active in the industry or those aspiring to enter it, including songwriters, performers, and music producers. They benefit from advanced training, industry insights, and networking opportunities provided by our experienced instructors and guest speakers.
  4. Specialized Learners: Individuals with specific interests in particular instruments or genres, such as rock, jazz, blues, or pop. They seek specialized instruction tailored to their unique musical goals and preferences.


Lessons & Rates

Personalized Lessons

We offer music lessons both in person at our Prescott, AZ location and virtually via Zoom. Lessons are available in 30-minute and 60-minute durations, priced at $30 and $60, respectively. Your first lesson is commitment-free, and we recommend starting with a 30-minute session. Choose your instrument or technique, and Jimmy will provide personalized instruction tailored to your goals.


For virtual lessons, each session will be recorded and shared with you afterward, allowing for review and practice between lessons.


During your initial lesson, discuss your goals with Jimmy to create a personalized plan. If you decide to continue after the first lesson, you commit on a monthly basis. You have the flexibility to choose your lesson frequency—weekly, biweekly, monthly, etc. Sessions are scheduled at your convenience, with payment due at the beginning of each month. You can adjust the number of sessions, change instruments/technique focus before committing to the next month.
